We wanted to create a DIFFERENT spot in the Gold Coast for you to come and just chill, sitting on our cozy couches reading a book and have amazing coffee, yummy rustic food, listen to great music, and just hang out!

We also have spaces for you to work with free wifi and power points. We praise ourselves for being a spot for entrepreneurs to hang out, make connections and meet new people that are on the same roller coaster as you!

We've come a long way from the early days in 1958 when Mel's was known as the Elmwood Donut Shop - just a counter, 14 stools and a large variety of donuts.

But even back then we always listened to what our customer had to say. That's why in 1956 we added a grill and started to cook hamburgers and hot dogs.

When our customers saw the grill they said "How about bacon and eggs?" and so breakfast became the new meal at Mel's.

Next came BLTs and ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch.

The concept of Trouvaille was brought to life drawing the core of its inspiration from the French Revolution when the abolition of the guild system and the downfall of the monarchy left celebrated chefs on the streets.

This monumental moment in history lead to the introduction of Bouillon restaurants, which offered the ‘ordinary’ man access to gourmet cooking matched with opulent interiors at an affordable price point.
